HISTORY

 HOW IT BEGAN

In the Winter 95 issue of the "FLYER", Editor Ron Randall wrote a column about receiving an email from Frank Novak (439th.) asking if any 319th. men were on the internet? Ron stated that he and Sec/Treas Joe Madrano had discussed the feasibility of going on line with our own page and ask for suggestions and promised to include email addresses in the next flyer. Ed Brockman (439th) decided to try and write one, and with Netscape 3.0 came up with a passable facsimile. In the Spring  1996 "FLYER" Ron printed a column with the WWW address and a list of ten members. A web Site was born and Ron Randall from that point forward was an avid participant with his help and advice. The Site went on to Win Web Site honors and to reunite many other WWII Buddies with each other. To inform siblings of their "Daddies" exploits, to furnish information to Historians and others. Thanks  to Joe Madrano (439th.)  and John Mooney (a close friend of Rons) Who helped put the "FLYER" together and sent the entire newsletter to the webmaster via email. THANK YOU: RON RANDAL. One of the 319th.'s GREATEST.

FIRST WEBMASTER

Ed Brockman, creator and webmaster of the original web site. After several years at the age of 80 "Brock" decided that he was not going to live forever and the site should be taken over by a younger generation "Baby Boomers" in order to survive. These "Boomers" were beginning to wonder just what the hell the Old Man done in the war. In some cases he never would tell them and they were curious. In a couple of cases, he lied to them and said he was a pilot, I never told them the truth. For the site to survive it must be run by our offspring. Many of them have become active participants and have donated to the new web site address. Final Note: I have never used Foul Language, Religion or Politics on the Site although I am proficient in all, I hope this carries far into the future. I have enjoyed each and everyone of you and will keep you in my address book, keep writing and as the kids say "I LOVE YOU MAN"---Cheers, Brock..
